Robert F. Cooke

Robert F. Cooke is an equity partner of Cooke & King, LLLP.  During his 20 years of distinguished service with the U.S. Navy, Mr. Cooke graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Southern Illinois University.  After retiring from military service, Mr. Cooke earned a Juris Doctorate in 2001 from the University of Miami.  He is admitted to the Florida Bar and has been admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida.

Mr. Cooke currently practices in the area of commercial and civil litigation and is a member of the Florida Bar, the Dade County, Martin County, and Coral Gables Bar Associations, and the American Trial Lawyers Association.
 
David V. King

Equity Partner Mr. David V. King received his Bachelors Degree in Philosophy, Business Administration and Economics from Catawba College with honors and obtained a Juris Doctorate from the Emory University School of Law in 1984.  He is admitted to practice before the Florida Bar, the State Bar of Georgia, and the United States District Court of the Southern District of Florida.

Mr. King is an active member of the Broward County, Palm Beach County, and the American Bar Associations, as well as the Florida Defense Lawyers Association.  His extensive practice experience includes cases involving medical malpractice, architectural and engineering defects, personal injury, and product liability.

Mr. King has attended the intensive trial program offered by the National Institute of trial Advocacy.  He has also lectured on various legal topics presented by insurance companies and organizations.

Mark A. Gatica

Partner Mark A. Gatica obtained his Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Michigan in 1983 and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Miami in 1986.  He was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1987 and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida in 2000.  Mr. Gatica has argued several cases before the Florida Supreme Court and Courts of Appeal.  He has written and lectured on defending against fraudulent insurance claims, and he has co-authored family law materials used to train lawyers in continuing legal education seminars.

Mr. Gatica’s practice areas include civil litigation, commercial litigation, family law, domestic violence, child custody, child support, and civil appeals. Mr. Gatica is an active member of the South Miami-Kendall Bar and the Florida Bar Associations.

Misty Taylor

Misty Taylor is a partner of Cooke & King, LLLP, in the West Palm Beach office. Ms. Taylor received both her Bachelors degree and Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida with honors.  In law school, she was a recipient of the Atwood Dunwoody Scholarship; additionally, she earned Book Awards in Torts and Civil Procedure and was Editor-in-Chief of the Florida Journal of International Law.

Ms. Taylor is a member of the Florida Bar, as well as the Palm Beach County Bar Association, and has been admitted to practice before the United States District Court of the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida. She actively participates in the pro bono attorney ad litem and guardian ad litem programs of Palm Beach County, where she advocates on behalf of children within the legal system.

Ms. Taylor handles complex insurance defense suits and cases involving medical malpractice, wrongful death, and automobile and product liability defenses.
